Eden Scott are currently recruiting for a Product Portfolio Manager to join a brand new team to work within one of their Glasgow based clients. The Team Responsible for the Product Lifecycle Management (Plm) process that provides the capability to manage its products from the point where the product idea is generated to the products end of life and its retirement from the products portfolio. Manage innovation product development and the product portfolio ensuring that quality value and relevance to our customers is delivered. The Role Manage the product portfolio to ensure it is in line with strategy product development principles and the Plm process. Responsible for one of the three product platforms. Have oversight of and manage one of the three product platforms to ensure it aligns with strategy is in line with the product principles Ensure products are reviewed regularly in accordance to the Plm process There are three platforms and whilst you will own one platform you will be required to undertake work on other product platforms dependent upon priorities at the time) Have oversight of a product platform and visibility of the pipeline Align the product portfolio with strategy Carry out product reviews making recommendations and decisions regarding modification enhancement or retirement Proactively engage with product owners around the business to ensure early sight of all product activities from concept to retirement Support the Product Development team in preparing Plm documentation For products in the platform you are responsible for engage with product owners to ensure that all products are included in the Plm process (this is both Head Office and National Office products) For the product platform you are responsible for work closely with the innovation function and business owners to ensure that only those ideas with a likely chance of development are progressed Carry out product reviews on existing products Evaluate the impact of products that are identified for retirement from the business prepare retirement plan For products that do not go to the Product Portfolio Group make decisions as to whether they should proceed to the next gate in the Plm process Support training and awareness activities for the Plm process inputting to training materials Support the Head of Product Portfolio Management with other activities within the Products Directorate that support the implementation of the Plm process Essential skills Graduate with relevant experience in a product development or product management role Strong interpersonal skills especially in influencing and persuading others able to build relationships quickly Excellent written communication skills with a high attention to detail and the ability to write robust reports for the consideration of senior management Experience of effective matrix collaborative or partnership working Well organised and methodical approach to work with strong analytical skills Able to apply knowledge judgement and diplomacy within complex situations and make appropriate and objective recommendations Able to manage competing priorities at once and to meet strict deadlines A good team player able to show flexibility and adaptability in a fast moving environment Highly motivated proactive and enthusiastic individual who is able to work on their own initiative Willingness and ability to travel (both domestically and overseas)
